Argyle council urges residents to use proper civic address signs.

Wednesday, March 10th 2010

Argyle council is urging residents in the municipality to display proper civic address signs.  The matter was discussed last night along with the fact that some homeowners don't place the signs near the road where they can be seen by emergency responders.  The other problem is the duplication of civic numbers. Warden Aldric d'Entremont says there's a particular problem for communities which are located along route 308. "It's the road from Quinan to Tusket and Tusket to Morris Island and between Hanging Oaks and Carl's Store there's a little section there and that's Route three. On either side is 308 and there's a lot of duplication of civic numbers." There is a meeting scheduled next week with the provincial departments of transportation and Service Nova Scotia which over sees civic numbering.
