UPDATE: Charges to be laid in home invasion.Tuesday, August 7th 2012 Charges are expected to be laid against a man who police say was involved in a home invasion.
RCMP Sargeant Michel Lacroix tells CJLS that 26 year old Nicolas Mood will be charged later today.
Yesterday RCMP responded at a residence in Darlings Lake around 5:40am.
Sgt. Lacroix said the initial investigation revealed that a 26-year-old man broke into a residence and assaulted a 26-year-old man.
A dog was also injured.
A 23-year-old female was also in the home at the time but was not hurt.
Sgt. Lacroix would not say what charges will be laid nor would he discuss any details of the home invasion.
CJLS News has learned that Mood had a baseball bat when he went to the residence and was injured by a shotgun blast.
After the incident police requested the public's ahelp in locating Mood.
They were concerned he may be suffering from serious injuries and could require medical assistance.
Officers located Mood around 3pm yesterday and he was transported to the Yarmouth Regional Hospital.
Lacroix said the man’s injuries were not as serious as the RCMP had initially feared.
Officers from the Southwest Nova Major Crimes Unit were at the hospital for several hours yesterday questioning Mood.
