Mounties mum on sex investigation.

Wednesday, July 11th 2012

RCMP won't confirm they're investigating further allegations of sexual misconduct involving a former Yarmouth County camp counsellor.

23 year old Mason Joel Davidson returns to Yarmouth Provincial court on July 24.

He appeared in court yesterday but did not enter a plea as expected on a charge of exposing himself to a child last month in Cedar Lake.

RCMP Media Relations Officer Sgt. Brigdit Leger tells CJLS they are investigating a complaint.

Sgt. Leger couldn't say how long the investigation may take.

CJLS News has learned the second case involves an elementary school-aged boy who was allegedly assaulted at a Yarmouth County summer camp last year.

Earlier this week, an official at Camp Peniel said Davidson worked at the camp in 2010 and 2011 but was not employed there this year.

Davidson is free on conditions that he stay away from schools, playgrounds and areas where children may be found.

He is also prohibited from supervising children through his employment unless another appropriate adult is with him.
